Prior to working with Baker Tilly, the digital strategy St. Barnabas (SBH) Health System used made it difficult to extract data and gather meaningful information. Managing the entire organization’s financials was a struggle. SBH’s main goal is to improve the health of the population with a reduced cost. Cost reduction comes from having effective enterprise resource planning (ERP), financial and human capital management (HCM) systems. In order to increase their patient consumer activities and engagement, SBH needed to adopt a better clinical system and revenue cycle. They chose Oracle because their clinical, financial and ERP systems are interconnected. SBH had enlisted Baker Tilly for their clinical electronic health record (EHR) implementation, so it was a natural progression for them to continue working with the team for the financial and ERP system projects as well. Jitendra Barmecha, senior vice president – chief Information officer and digital strategy officer, discusses how working with Baker Tilly for their technology transformation enables the organization to better serve the underserved population in the Bronx.
