A non-profit child welfare organization offering foster care and adoption services and has multiple locations in the Northeast. The organization recently went through a restructuring and needed to engage a partner in outsourced accounting services. They wanted to maintain a lean internal staff with the goal to have them focus on more strategic aspects of accounting and financial management.
The legacy accounting platform no longer supported the evolving agency needs and still consisted of paper-based, manual processes which created inefficiencies across a number of organizational functions. The existing processes and technology fostered incomplete and delayed reporting, diminishing confidence and reliability. Additionally, the agency had unique grant and federal compliance reporting requirements, which necessitated a tailored solution. Based on the corporate restructuring, the agency no longer had internal capacity and needed a partner who could provide outsourced accounting.
Baker Tilly came alongside the client to understand their challenges and execute a migration from their legacy accounting software to Sage Intacct, a cloud-based and paperless solution. This migration process included monitoring user adoption of their new processes and technology solution. Additionally, Baker Tilly helped move the client’s existing reporting requirements from Microsoft Excel to Sage Intacct. Transferring our knowledge to the client allowed them to implement on-demand reporting with more accurate financial information, creating greater visibility and reliability in their data.
The Sage Intacct implementation and transition provided outsourced accounting services, allowing the client to confidently allocate their time and attention to other business objectives. In automating various processes and delivering a new technology solution with robust dashboards and reporting capabilities, business leaders were able to access data more readily, with accounts payable management becoming timely, paperless and on-demand within a user-friendly interface. With all of these changes, the client was able to make strategic and better informed decisions leveraging data they can trust.
