Michelle Abel

Michelle Abel is a principal and firm leader of credits and incentives within Baker Tilly’s specialty tax practice. Michelle has more than 20 years of innovation credits and fixed assets experience. She is the firm leader for Baker Tilly’s credits and incentives group, executing strategic and operational oversight of innovation credits (R&D tax credits), fixed assets and statutory credits within the specialty tax team. Michelle elevates the reach and breadth of these areas while teaming with leaders across the firm to maximize value for Baker Tilly clients.

Michelle is recognized nationally as a subject matter expert, publishing thought leadership and presenting on tax technical topics. She is sought after for her creative and entrepreneurial approach to optimizing tax deductions for her clients. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Michelle was a partner with a Big Four firm – gaining broad career experience across numerous tax specialties, tax technology, legal business solutions and operations.
