Our core value of Belonging reflects our commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace for everyone. Bolstering this core value is Activate, a team member network that unites and empowers team members who are neurodiverse or have physical disabilities.
Activate is led by three team members who are passionate about accessibility. Their mission is to empower individuals with diverse abilities to reach their full potential.
In 2023, Baker Tilly sponsored the Coqual study, Challenging Norms: A Global Analysis of Gender at Work, which examined the effects that gender identity and childcare, elder care and self-care can have on career advancement and social interactions in the office.
The findings indicated how powerfully the act of caregiving shapes our experiences in the workplace and inspired a renewed commitment to building a sense of belonging for caregivers of all stripes at Baker Tilly.
One tangible outcome of the study was the evolution of our team member network for parents, previously titled Moms for Moms, to Caregivers at BT. This change acknowledges the fact that caregiving is not limited to moms, dads or even parents — and aims to provide a safe, inclusive and supportive space for anyone who provides care for others.
