With the objective of allowing patients to have greater access to their health information, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has introduced their Interoperability and Patient Access final rule (CMS-9115-F) that will help break down the barrier of data sharing between health plans and healthcare providers alike.
