Show me the money: Using data analytics to audit payroll

We are pleased to collaborate with ACUA on our series of webinars for higher education. In this webinar session, we discuss methods and helpful tips for analyzing payroll data, including:

• Understanding the capabilities of software tools such as Microsoft Excel and CaseWare’s IDEA data analytics software to execute the tests
• How to develop a series of payroll tests to identify anomalous activity and/or business process improvement opportunities
• How to identify and develop a request for usable data in a preferred format
• Reviewing the initial analysis output and distinguishing between false positives and results that require additional research and discussion
