A large, top-50 federal contractor in the engineering and construction industry engaged Baker Tilly after discovering a noncompliance with its disclosed cost accounting practices. Specifically, the contractor sought assistance providing a detailed cost impact proposal (DCI) to the government.
Baker Tilly provided the client with an experienced team that understood their specific noncompliance and the corresponding requirements of a DCI proposal. The team worked diligently to execute the proposal, analyzing large quantities of data in a short amount of time, in order to meet the government’s established deadline.
Because the project deadline was met, the client was able to perform their review and add a written response. The detailed cost impact resulted in the contractor not owing the government any additional monies in excess of the amount already credited. In fact, the overall result was an overpayment to the Government. The DCI is currently under DCAA audit and the final result is pending. One senior leader was so satisfied with the quality of work performed that “[she] has already recommended Baker Tilly to affiliates and subcontractors.“
