Founded in 2004, Cambodian Children’s Fund is a not-for-profit that provides life-changing education, nourishment and healing to vulnerable children from some of Cambodia’s most destitute communities. Cambodian Children’s Fund cares for more than 2,000 students and 10,000 people annually, providing to entire families and communities in crisis. For the children of the Steung Meanchey area of Phnom Penh, education is their lifeline out of poverty and Cambodian Children’s Fund offers an award-winning education aimed at providing hope, opportunity and security.

The business challenge

Cambodian Children’s Fund was outgrowing its existing financial software. They were always running three weeks behind on their financials and this led to wasted resources and poor reporting/metrics. Cambodian Children’s Fund needed a cloud-based accounting solution that could:

• Manage their projected growth
• Reduce their dependency on Excel spreadsheets
• Provide complete transparency to their donors
• Deliver up-to-date custom reports and dashboards
• Support users in both Cambodia and the United States

Delivering up-to-date custom reports to Cambodian Children’s Fund’s donors was the main driving force behind the search for a new accounting software system.

Strategy and solution

Cambodian Children’s Fund chose Baker Tilly to implement Sage Intacct, a cloud-based accounting software solution. Baker Tilly enabled them to significantly improve accounting processes (no more tedious Excel spreadsheets) and deliver complete transparency to their donors.
