Neil is a principal with Baker Tilly’s Los Angeles tax practice and a leader in the firm’s cannabis tax practice. Throughout his public accounting career, Neil has focused on working with businesses and high-net-worth individuals to plan and develop financial and tax strategies to help them meet their goals. Neil began his career in South Africa at Arthur Andersen where he qualified as a chartered accountant before immigrating to the United States.
- Provides tax planning and compliance services, including tax structuring for a wide range of industries and high-net-worth individuals
- Experience in a range of industries including real estate, financial services, professional services, entertainment and cannabis
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax and compliance guidelines, as well as U.S. GAAP
- Previous business experience includes working in private industry serving as a financial controller, CFO and later as the CEO of a biotechnology company
