Jonathan Zeigler is managing principal of Baker Tilly’s financial services practice. He specializes in providing audit and accounting services to the insurance industry. Jonathan has extensive experience in property and casualty, health and warranty carriers, managing general agents and underwriters, reinsurance companies and third-party administrators. Previously, Jonathan served as the Philadelphia financial services team leader, insurance technical leader and professional practice liaison to Baker Tilly’s professional practice.
- Leads various insurance industry client relationships and delivers quality and timely audit and advisory services
- Analyzes and assists insurance industry entities with the implementation of new accounting guidance, including accounting for revenue from contracts with customers, financial instruments and disclosures about short-duration insurance contracts
- Serves as the partner on the audits of certain multinational insurance and investment companies, including co-leading the coordination of international component auditors in the United Kingdom, China and Bermuda
- Serves as the partner on SOC examinations for a variety of financial services companies
- Experienced in insurance company statutory accounting principles, U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting and filings under both the 1933 and 1934 Acts, communications with the SEC and initial public offerings
- Assists companies with the implementation and improvement of internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) processes
- Develops and implements insurance thought leadership and` provides client education sessions on topics such as new accounting standards, enterprise risk management (ERM), corporate governance and ICFR
